Bio and Interests:
Dr. Manfred Dietrich was born in 1952. He received the Dipl.-Ing. degree from the Dresden University of Technology in 1974 and the Dr.-Ing. degree from the University of Wismar in 1981. From 1974 to 1978 he worked as a scientific assistant at the University of Wismar. After that he worked until 1991 at the Halbleiterwerk (semiconductor manufacturer) Frankfurt/Oder. He developed analogue and digital simulators and gate array design systems for bipolar circuits during his industrial job. The last five year he was responsible as a group leader for the whole design flow of the Halbleiterwerk. From 1991 until 2003 he worked for the German federal ministry of education and research. He coached more than 200 national and EUREKA projects in the field of microelectronics. Since 2003 he has been working at the Fraunhofer Institute for Integrated Circuits. Since 2006 he is head of the department “Mixed-Signal Systems”. He is member of the steering group of the German edacentrum and leader of the common section “Description Languages and Modelling of Circuits and Systems” of the VDE and GI in Germany.
