Bio and Interests:
Julie Grollier, born in 1975, is a CNRS researcher in the Joint Unit CNRS/Thales, France. Her PhD (2001-2003), under the supervision of Albert Fert, was dedicated to the study of a new spintronics phenomena : the spin transfer torque. The current reserach interests of Julie Grollier include spintronics (dynamics of nanomagnets under the spin torque effect), and new devices for cognitive computation (in particular memristors). _x000D_ In 2010 she was awarded the “Jacques Herbrand” prize</a> of the French Academy of Science, for her pioneer work on spin transfer. The same year, she received a prestigious European Research Council grant to start a new project on Memristive Artificial Synapses and their integration in Neural Networks (ERC starting grant “NanoBrain”).
